About Dr Rakesh Wahi MD
An experienced surgeon and teacher, Dr. Rakesh Wahi, MD, began preparing for his career as a student at GSVM Medical College in Kanpur, India. Following this, he completed a rotating internship followed by a residency in general surgery with Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, as well as a fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery with the University of Toronto in Canada. Dr. Rakesh Wahi completed his training with an advanced fellowship in cardiovascular surgery with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and a cardiac surgery fellowship in conjunction with Rush University and Cook County Hospital in Illinois.
Today, Rakesh Wahi, MD, uses the sum of his extensive academic and clinical experience as director of research at the Center for Vascular Medicine in Greenbelt, Maryland. Furthermore, he consults on issues related to research in thrombosis with Loyola University and serves as a staff surgeon at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, West Virginia.
